In our last Saturday Summary, Marion and I gushed over two dramas that we have thoroughly enjoyed in recent weeks. All too soon, we’ve had to bid them farewell last month. Starting from the heartfelt Romance Is A Bonus Book, which was a wonderful reminder of the true joy that passion brings to the heart, and the solace and warmth that reading brings to the soul. We hope that our first part of the books featured in the show will help bring back some memories, and give you some suggestions for your reading list!
And then, the ever-so-sweet Touch Your Heart, with lead characters that are filled with pure sincerity — both for what they do, and for each other — that it really touched our hearts. Admittedly, it will take me (Mich) a while before I can fully let our ‘Kwon-byeon’ and ‘Oh Jin-sim ssi’ go.

As much as we loved following our two favourite OTPs during the past month, we were psyched as much by unearthing all the K-Drama meta references (to other dramas and to drama tropes at that!) in Touch Your Heart and Romance Is A Bonus Book.

SPOTLIGHT ON BOOK CAFES

The past month has been very book-focused, so we thought that we’d change our usual spotlight on an area and highlight some of K-Dramaland’s book cafés instead.
Can there be any better place than a café filled with books?

The place to go for book café hopping is certainly Paju Book City in Paju’s [파주시] neighborhood of Munbal-dong [문발동]. Paju Book City is a neighborhood focused on books and, of course, it can’t be without book cafés. It is also the central neighborhood in Romance Is A Bonus Book; for some of you, this might be an extra incentive to check this area out!
Book cafés to explore here are the one in the medical museum Mediterium [메디테리움], Hesse Boulangerie 152 [헤세브랑제리152], Bookcafe Noon [북카페눈] and Bookfriends Café [북프렌즈카페]. Located a little north of Paju Book City, in Heyri Art Village, is Foresta Book Cafe [북하우스].

Not planning to travel all the way to Paju? Maybe one of these book cafés is located where you’re planning to go, instead.
