As you might have noticed, this Saturday Summary comes with a delay of two weeks. Yes, I delayed it and will from now on — if no major vetos flood our mail box – update on the newest additions here on KDL once a month.
Right now, I’m fascinated at how much K-Dramaland as a landscape has changed over the years (not even decades). I re-watched parts of Can You Hear My Heart (I am half-way through) and there was not one café or restaurant I could recognize. Likewise, I am going through old drafts of filming spots and quite a lot of them do not exist anymore. And this concerns, again, cafés and restaurants. What does this tell us about a city like Seoul?
And what does this mean for what we are doing here at KDL? Should we see KDL like a sort of archive? This would mean to also list locations that are long gone and to keep locations on the site that do not exist anymore. Or should KDL be a reflection of K-Dramaland at the moment? This would mean to delete locations once they are out of operation. I guess this question will occupy me for a bit.

SPOTLIGHT ON AN AREA: SEONGNAM
Any K-Drama lover who is serious about knowing about and visiting filming location should have her eyes on the city of Seongnam. This is where a lot of things happen in K-Dramaland since a while and especially right now with Something in the Rain and (just finished)) The Great Seducer.
