YTN Building [YTN 뉴스퀘어]

The exterior of this building appears as the headquarter building of O.NA TV in Love Is for Suckers/Icy Cold Romance (얼어죽을 연애따위) (ENA, 2022), where Goo Yeo-reum (Lee Da-hee) works — as seen, for instance, in episode 10.

This building appears as ‘JB Entertainment’ in Clean With Passion For Now (일단 뜨겁게 청소하라) (JTBC, 2018-19). Ryu Eun-ho (Ahn Jae-hyeon) works here part time in The Beauty Inside / Byooti Insaideu (뷰티 인사이드) (JTBC, 2018). In episode 3, Kang Sa-ra (Lee Da-hee) comes by to get a vanilla latte and in episode 5 she is back here to look for Eun-ho (who actually cleans her home at that moment).

In front of YTN Building facing Sangam Culture Square

News about the ‘spree killer’ is shown on the screen on the side of this building (with MBC Headquarters [MBC문화방송 본사] in the background) in episode 11 (full episode 6) of Partners for Justice 2/Investigation Couple 2 (검법남녀 2) (MBC, 2019).

Yoon Jin-A (Son Ye-Jin) hails a taxi in front of this building for her drunk colleague assistant manager Moon in episode 2 of Something in the Rain/Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food/Pretty Sister Who Treats Me to Meals (밥 잘 사주는 예쁜 누나) (JTBC, 2018) while locked-in Seo Joon-Hee (Jung Hae-In) waits for her in her office.

Sharon (Seo Ji-Hye) — who has possessed Jung Hae-ra’s (Shin Se-kyung) body — is sitting in a pojangmacha right before this building and calls Moon Soo-ho (Kim Rae-won) over in episode 6 of Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me (흑기사) (KBS2, 2017-18). After seducing him doesn’t work, she tries to disgust him by ‘Hae-ra’s’ behavior (like wanting to sleep on a couple of plastic chairs pulled together). Soo-ho instead –convinced it is Hae-ra– princess-carries her out of the tent. Later, in episode 7, Hae-ra and Soo-ho meet here for a date to verify if Hae-ra was really here drunk. But just before meeting each other, Soo-ho is nearly run over by a motorbike.

Nan-hee (Kim Seul-gi) stands in front of this building in episode 1 of Queen of the Ring (반지의 여왕), the third story of the mini-series/drama trilogy Three Colors of Fantasies (세가지 색 판타지) (MBC/Naver 2017) and has an inner dialogue about her disadvantages because she doesn’t fit into the beauty standards.

In episode 1 of Oh My Ghostess/Oh My Ghost (오 나의 귀신님) (tvN, 2015), Kang Sun-Woo (Cho Jung-Seok) looks at an image on his phone in front of the YTN building that borders Sangam Cultural Square right after he met his long-time friend Lee So-Hyeong (Park Jung-Ah) at CJ E&M Center [CJ E&M센터] which is just a stone-throw away from this square.

YTN Building or YTN Newsquare [YTN 뉴스퀘어], the building of 24h news channel broadcaster YTN, is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Sangam [Sangam-dong/상암동]. It sits right in the heart of Sangam Digital Media City, at the border of Sangam Culture Square [상암문화광장] and vis-à-vis the CJ EM Center [CJ EM센터].

De Chocolate Coffee – Sangam Branch [디초콜릿커피 상암YTN점] is on this building’s first floor, located on the opposite side of the entry with the sculpture. It opens Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 22:00.
