Trade Tower [트레이드타워]
At the end of episode 5 of The King: Eternal Monarch (더킹:영원의 군주) (SBS, 2020), King Lee Gon (Lee Min-ho) comes to pick up a penniless Jung Tae-eul (Kim Go-eun) in Seoul.
Hwang Tae-kyung (Jang Keun-suk) drives by this tower in episode 3 of You’re Beautiful (미남이시네요) (SBS, 2009).
Trade Tower [트레이드타워] — also known as Korea General Trade Center [한국종합무역센터], Korea Trade Center [한국무역센타], Trade Center [무역센터], International Trade Center [국제무역센터], KWTC, and WTC Tower [WTC 타워] — is a 228m tall building with 56 floors (54 above, 2 below ground) that is easily recognizable by its trademark ‘stairs facade’. Opened on September 7 1988 as Trade Hall [무역회관], this tower was the second highest skyscraper in South Korea upon time of completion but was pushed back in ranks during the following years and held 24th place in 2016. The tower was designed in 1985 by Junglim Architects & Engineers (대한민국 정림건축 종합건축사사무소).
This tower, which is part of COEX, is located on Yeongdong-daero [영동대로] in Seoul’s neighborhood of Samseong [Samseong-dong/삼성동] in the Gangnam District [Gangnam-gu/강남구], right next to SMTOWN Coex Artium [SMTOWN 코엑스아티움].
