This is where Jung Yi-hyun (Yoon Hyun-min) and Kim Geum (Seo Ji-hoon) attend a village party in episode 1 of Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter/Gyeryong Fairy Tale/Tale of Fairy (계룡선녀전) (tvN, 2018). It is here that they encounter Seon Ok-nam (Moon Chae-won) again, and Yi-hyun confronts her to ask if she’s the one they’d seen earlier in the day. Teacher Goo (Ahn Gil-sang) comes to her defence and Yi-hyun splatters ketchup over him when waving his corndog.

In final episode 16, Kim Geum and Ok-nam return here together, and are reunited with Yi-hyun, who shows up after being away for a year.

Sinwon Temple [신원사/新元寺] is a temple in Gyeryong Mountain [Gyeryong-san/계룡산/鷄龍山], South Chuncheong Province, which is considered an ancient sacred mountain in Korea. The temple is located in Yanghwa-ri [양화리] village in Gongju’s Gyeryong township [Gyeryong-myeon/계룡면].

Along with Gapsa [갑사] and Donghaksa [동학사], it is considered one of the three main temples in the area. An admission fee may apply for entry.

The locations seen in Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter are the Four Heavenly Kings Gate [四天王門] and the Main Hall/Mahavira Hall, or Daeeungjeon [대웅전].
