Shinsegae Department Store [신세계백화점 강남점]

In episode 1 of My ID is Gangnam Beauty / ID: Gangnam Beauty (내 아이디는 강남미인) (JTBC, 2018), Kang Mi-rae (Lim Soo-hyang) comes to the Gangnam store of Atelier Cologne [아틀리에코롱 신세계백화점 강남점], a specialty Made-in-France perfume store located in the Le Classico Section on this department store’s Floor B1,  to try on perfumes for her first day at school. This is also where we see her ‘new look’ (thanks to plastic surgery) for the first time.

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul /JW Marriott Seoul [JW메리어트호텔 서울/JW 메리어트 서울]

Park Jae-eon’s (Song Kang) ex-girlfriend Yoon Seol-a (Lee Yeol-eum) stays at this hotel (seen as ‘JM Arriott’) while in Korea, as seen in episode 4 and 5 of Nevertheless/I Know But (알고있지만) (JTBC/Netflix, 2021). In episode 5, she waits for Jae-eon at the foyer of hotel, but he was otherwise distracted trying to make up with Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee), and stood her up. It is seen again in episode 6 when Jae-eon comes here to meet his mother (Seo Jung-yeon) at room 3208, which is the hotel’s Ambassador Penthouse.

No Ae-jung (Song Ji-hyo) and Oh Dae-o (Son Ho-jun) decide to work together in front of this hotel in episodes 3-4 of Was It Love/Did We Love?/We, Were in Love (우리, 사랑했을까) (JTBC, 2020) after both run into each other by chance here while on separate business meetings.

Vincenzo Cassano/Park Joo-hyung (Song Joong-ki) calls her during the meeting and she learns [SPOILER] that her intern and college Jun-woo was the hidden Babel boss they have been looking for all the time.

Shinsegae Central City [센트럴시티], established on November 03 1977, is a ‘cultural complex’ similar to COEX located in Seoul’s neighborhood Banpo [Banpo-dong/반포동], in the Seocho District [Seocho-gu/서초구]. It is thought of as ‘a small city inside the city‘ (hence the name) with shopping, leisure, culture, accommodation, and public facilities. Seoul’s Central City Bus Terminal [센트럴시티터미널(호남)], which started as Seoul Bus Terminal Co. Ltd. in 1968, is the oldest part of this complex, which is today mostly occupied by Shinsegae Department Store [신세계백화점 강남점], Shinsegae Duty Free, and JW Marriott Hotel Seoul.

Located above Shinsegae Department Store, JW Marriott Hotel Seoul [JW메리어트호텔 서울] is a five-star hotel with “panoramic city views”, comprising 379 rooms including 32 suites and two penthouses. It opened in 1999.
