Seoullo 7017 Skygarden [서울로7017]

Love With Flaws (2019-20); He Is Psychometric (2019); Clean With Passion For Now (2018-19); Live Up To Your Name, Dr. Heo (2017); Fight For My Way (2017)

Joo Seo-yeon (Oh Yeon-seo) and Lee Kang-woo (Ahn Jae-hyeon) come here at night on their first real date in full episode 10 of Love With Flaws (하자있는 인간들) (MBC, 2019-20).

Yoon Jae-in (Shin Ye-eun) walks down from this bridge to the roadside after leaving Seoul Station, in episode 1 of He is Psychometric/That Psychometric Guy (사이코메트리 그녀석) (tvN, 2019), and gets into her aunt’s truck.

Jang Sun-gyeol (Yoon Gyun-sang) and Gil O-sol (Kim You-jung) come here in episode 9 of Clean With Passion For Now (일단 뜨겁게 청소하라) (JTBC, 2018-19) and they both indirectly confess their love to each other. “Do you dream of love?,” she asks him reading this question from a signboard sitting in this Skygarden and he responds a little late (also reading from a signboard): “I love you very much and forever.”

When teleporting to 2017 in episode 9 of Live Up To Your Name, Dr. Heo/Deserving of the Name (명불허전) (tvN, 2017), Heo Im (Kim Nam-gil) and Choi Yeon-kyung (Kim Ah-joong) arrive here. Heo Im lands here again in final episode 16 for a last time (?) — and Yeon-kyung is right there.

Park Moo-bin (Choi Woo-sik) has a crush on Choi Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won) and decides to gift her a pair of sneakers in episode 3 of Fight For My Way/Third-Rate My Way (쌈 마이웨이) (KBS2, 2017). After some misunderstandings, they meet up in this park. He tells her to be Cinderella and try the sneakers on. But actually they are too small and she wonders if she should really force herself.

Seoullo 7017 Skygarden [서울로7017 or 서울역고가공원] is a public park that is located on a transformed elevated highway just north of Seoul Station [서울역] in the neighborhood of Hoeyeon-dong [회현동], Seoul; similar to New York City’s High Line Park. This walkway officially opened on May 20, 2017 and was since then already featured on many design/architecture websites. In 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism –announced through the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)– selected Seullo 7017 as one of the ‘100 Must-Visit Spots in Korea’ for 2019-2020.

Seoullo, the name of the park, means ‘towards Seoul’ and ‘Seoul Street’, and 7017 is a combination of the year of the construction of the highway (1970) and its transformation into a park (2017).
