Seoul Fortress Wall — Naksan Section

Touch (2020); Shining Inheritance (2009)

When job-hunting and going through job advertisements in episode 2 of Touch (터치/Teochi) (Channel A, 2020), Han Soo-yeon (Kim Bo-ra) sits down on the same part of this wall where Ko Eun-seong came with her brother 11 years ago.

Ko Eun-Seong (Han Hyo-Joo) comes here with her brother Ko Eun-Woo (Yeon Jun-Suk) in episode 2 of Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance (찬란한 유산) (SBS, 2009) and wants to end both of their lives in jumping down from this wall. She comes back here in episode 12, thinking of her brother that has gone missing in the meantime.

The Naksan Section Trail of Hanyangdoseong (literally The Seoul City Wall or Fortress Wall of Seoul — also known as Hanyang City Wall) runs between Heunginijimun Gate and Hyehwamun Gate, passing via Naksan mountain. It is 2.1 km long and takes about 1 hour. You can walk on both sides of the wall for a moment, but make sure to find the right path to be able to continue.
Café Gaeppul [개뿔], the Ihwa-dong Village Museum [이화동 마을박물관] and Naksan Park [낙산공원] lie right at this section of the wall. Parts of this section of the Fortress Wall lie in Seoul’s neighborhood Ihwa [Ihwa-dong/이화동] in the Jongno District [Jongno-gu/종로구] and also form the Eastern border of Ihwa Mural Village [이화 벽화마을].

Hanyang City Wall is designated Historic Site No. 10.
