After the divorce proceedings between her and her husband (special appearance by Han Sang-jin), Han Ji-na (Cha Ye-ryun) walks down the stairs of this complex and runs into Seo E-do (Shin Sung-rok) in episode 18 (full episode 9) of Perfume/Peopyoom (퍼퓸) (KBS2, 2019). While she casually tells him that she’d just gotten a divorce, her (now ex-)husband storms up to E-do and asks him if he really does not realize that she had done this because of him. The court building is once again seen in episode 20 (full episode 10) when Min Jae-hee (Ha Jae-suk) meets her husband Kim Tae-joon (Jo Han-chul) on the premise of them formalizing their divorce — when Tae-joon’s intention was just to try and convince Jae-hee to get back together with him.
The Seoul Family & Administrative Court Building [서울가정·행정법원청사] –which houses both the Seoul Family Court [서울가정법원] and Seoul Administrative Court [서울행정법원]– is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Yangjae [Yangjae-dong/양재동] in the Seocho District [Seocho-gu/서초구], just a short walk away from EL Tower [엘타워]. The human-like sculptures seen in front of the building are a 2012 piece called ‘바로 서기, 바로 보기’ by Korean artist Park Balloon (박발륜), whose real name is Park Chang-sik (박창식).
