Seorak Beach [설악해변]

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020)

Moon Gang-Tae (Kim Soo-Hyun) is suspended after he punches a visitor to the ‘OK Psychiatric Hospital‘ in episode 9 of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아) (tvN, 2020). He agrees to go on a trip with Ko Mun-yeong (Seo Ye-ji) but later in the car he changes his mind. This angers Mun-yeong, who turns off the road and at high speed, drives down a narrow breakwater toward concrete tetrapods, while screaming and threatening to kill him. At the last moment she brakes, then kicks Gang-Tae out of the car and leaves him to make his own way home.

Seorak Beach [설악해변/설악해수욕장] is a beach that traverses the two villages of Yongho [Yongho-ri/용호리] and Jeongjin [Jeonjin-ri/전진리] in Yangyang County’s Ganghyeon Township [Ganghyeon-myeon/강현면]. This beach sits just around the corner north of Naksan Beach [낙산해변] and Naksansa Temple [낙산사] is located at the southern end of this beach. Seorak Beach is approx. 18 mins. to/from Seorak Wharf Breakwater [설악항방파제] by bus no. ‘속초(9)’.

Please note that this beach is not to be confused with the beach in front of Kensington Resort Seorak Beach [켄싱턴리조트 설악비치] that is often mentioned under the same name on English websites.
