Yoo Ja-sung (Kim Ji-seok) drives over this bridge right at the beginning of episode 1 of Monthly Magazine Home/Monthly House (월간 집) (JTBC, 2021).
Seongsu Bridge [성수대교/聖水大橋] is a 1160 meter-long cantilever bridge that crosses the Han River and connects Seoul’s neighborhoods Apgujeong [Apgujeong-dong/압구정동] and Seongsu [Seongsu-dong/성수동]. The bridge was first completed in 1979 but collapsed on October 21 1994 due to structural weaknesses. Unable to save the existing structures, the bridge was dismantled and replaced with a similar design of which construction ended on 15 August 1997.
The collapse of this bridge is mentioned in episode 1 of The King: Eternal Monarch (2020), when Lee Lim (Lee Jung-jin) arrives in the year 1994 and an aghast Lim hears and read everywhere about this news that just happened two months ago.
