Secret Blue Bakery Cafe [시크릿블루베이커리카페]

It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020)

This café’s exterior, gardens and internal dining areas appear as the ‘OK Psychiatric Hospital’ in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아) (tvN, 2020). This is where Moon Kang-tae (Lee Soo-hyun) starts to work from episode 3 onward when he has to leave his job as a psychiatric carer in Seoul and moves back to his seaside hometown with his autistic older brother and a friend.

Secret Blue Bakery Cafe [시크릿블루베이커리카페] —sometimes also Ayajin Beach Cafe Secret Blue [아야진해변 카페 시크릿블루]— is a café and bakery that sits on a hill overlooking the beautiful Ayajin Beach [아야진해수욕장] on one side and Seoraksan Mountain [설악산] on the other. It is located in the village of Ayajin [Ayajin-ri/아야진리] in Goseong County’s Toseon Township [Toseong-myeon/토성면], 7 km north of Sokcho, on South Korea’s east coast.

Opened in June 2020, the café is on the grounds of the former Ayajin Resort [아야진리조트], and it seems to be part of a redevelopment of the property. The grounds feature landscaped gardens, fountains, large lawn areas and outdoor seating. Inside the café, the seating is on two levels, with great views overlooking the beach and the seawall. Access is via the carpark from Ayanjinbuk-gil [아야진북길], or stairs from Ayajin Beach. The café sits in walking distance to/from Ayajin Harbor [아야진항구].
