Why Secretary Kim (2018)

Young Mi-so’s (Kim Ji-yu) house and the house where she and young Lee Young-joon (Moon Woo-jin) are abducted to in Why Secretary Kim/What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (김비서가 왜 그럴까) (tvN, 2018) are seen in flashbacks in episode 11 and 12.

—no longer exists—

Pyeonghwa-ro 450beon-gil [평화로450번길] is a street in a previously abandoned part of Uijeongbu’s neighborhood Uijeongbu [Uijeongbu-dong/의정부동]. As of September 2019, the part of the street and the two houses featured in Why Secretary Kim no longer exist; in their place now is a major housing developing project slated for completion in 2022.

Both houses were actually on the same street, even though the scene in Why Secretary Kim makes it seem like it’s not. (Observation: The scene shows Mi-so and her abductor walking in the opposite direction from the house.) To be precise, the new address of the ‘abduction house’ points to another street (Gyeongui-ro), but that’s because the house faces it , while located at the end of Pyeonghwa-ro 450beon-gil.

Pyeonghwa-ro 440beongil [평화로440번길] (the street where Young-joon was left behind) is also located in this part of town and lies parallel to this street, only two blocks away.
