The Walk

Han Yu-hyeon (Kim Young-kwang) and Anthony (Eum Moon-suk) run into each other by coincidence at a shop along this canal walk in episode 7 of Hello, Me!/안녕? 나야! (KBS2, 2021) and later, when outside at Canal Walk D2 SUMMER, Anthony challenges Yu-hyeon in telling him that he has already kissed Ban Ha-ni (Choi Gang-hee).

On the run, Han Tae-sul’s (Cho Seung-woo) brother Han Tae-san (Heo Joon-seok) eats hastily a sandwich at this walk in episode 7 of Sisyphus: The Myth (시지프스: the myth) (JTBC, 2021).

An advertisement shoot involving Yoon Min-seok (Kim Min-gue) and models from Seo E-do’s (Shin Sung-rok) agency film here in episode 9 of Perfume/Peopyoom (퍼퓸) (KBS2, 2019), with an injured Min Ye-rin (Go Won-hee) watching from the sidelines. Later, as Min-seok goes to sit with Ye-rin, E-do notices from the terrace where he’s sitting with Han Ji-na (Cha Ye-ryun), and begins to flare up.

Gil O-Sol (Kim You-Jung) comes here with her team for a cleaning job in episode 5 of Clean With Passion For Now (일단 뜨겁게 청소하라) (JTBC, 2018-19). When Jang Sun-gyeol (Yoon Gyun-sang) and his secretary Kwon (Yoo-Sun) come by to check upon the cleaning, O-sol falls down the ladder she’s standing on directly into Sun-gyeol’s arms who catches her.

Han Se-kye (Seo Hyun-jin) —in a changed form (cameo by Kim Sung-Ryoung)— comes here to eat alone in episode 2 of The Beauty Inside / Byooti Insaideu (뷰티 인사이드) (JTBC, 2018) and marvels about how nobody recognizes her. In episode 5, Seo Do-jae (Lee Min-ki) and Se-gye come here on their first official, all orchestrated, date after lunch and have a heart to heart talk.

Cheon Soo-ho (Kim Jung-hyun) secretly gives Oh Young-Hee (An Ji-Hyun) his credit card so that she can care for her best friend Seol Ji-Hyun (Seohyun of Girls’ Generation) in episode 9 of Time (시간) (MBC, 2018) and Young-hee takes Ji-hyun out to this place. Soo-ho joins them – doing as if it was a coincidence they meet – but Ji-hyun understands quickly that it is all his doing. When the two girls leave, Shin Min-Seok (Kim Joon-Han) joins Soo-ho and warns him to be careful as he is watched by someone high up.

Nam Shin III (Seo Kang-joon) and Kang So-bong (Gong Seung-yeon) come here for their date in episode 28 of Are You Human?/Are You Human Too (너도 인간이니?) (KBS2, 2018). The area that they stroll along is located in the Autumn zone (가울 302동) and the location of the piano in this scene is just in front of Smoothie King. In episode 29, it’s revealed that human Nam Shin (Seo Kang-joon) had followed them to this location.

In Cheese in the Trap (치즈 인 더 트랩) (tvN, 2016), the setting for Yoo Jung’s (Park Hae-jin) basement home exterior is here (Summer zone — 여름 202동). In episode 15, Baek In-ha (Lee Sung-kyung) has a complete meltdown about Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) in front of Yoo Jung and is thrown out by Yoo Jung’s bodyguards. Later, she spots Hong Seol herself walking by — on the way to Yoo Jung’s house — and goes up to confront her. In the midst of the scuffle, In-ha pushes Hong Seol on the street in a fit of fury and the latter is knocked down by a car.

In the very first scene of Birth of a Beauty (미녀의 탄생) (SBS, 2014-15), Sara/Sa Geum-Ran (Han Ye-Seul) walks down this shopping street.

A person randomly stabs people at this shopping street in episode 1 of Gap-dong/Gabdong, the Memories of Murder (Gapdongi/갑동이) (tvN, 2014) and Ha Moo-yeom (Yoon Sang-hyun) comes to the rescue.

NC Cube Canal Walk [NC큐브 커넬워크], also known as Songdo Canal Walk, is a massive shopping complex with four individual zones named after the four seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter — and each with unique shops and features that are located on both sides of a central waterway.

Designed by KPF and constructed by POSCO E&C, the complex was completed in October 2009. In 2013, E-land Retail [이랜드리테일] —itself a subsidiary of E-Land Group [이랜드그룹]— signed a contract with Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to operate most of Canal Walk for the next 10 years. The former Canal Walk [커낼워크] was then rebranded to NC Cube Canal Walk — itself part of E-Land Retail’s NC Department Stores that was previously the independent New Core Department Store [뉴코아백화점을] that was rebranded to NC (keeping the initials of the former name after purchase by E-Land Retail).

It is located in Incheon’s Songdo International Business District [Songdo IBD] (송도) in the Yeonsu District [Yeonsu-gu/연수구].

The shop O-revoir is not directly along the canal walk itself, but is part of the exterior line of shops of NC Cube’s building, block no. 302.
