Heo Cho-hee (Kim Sun-ah) works at the Cultural Theft Division of the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA), which is located at this museum in When It’s At Night/Night After Night (밤이면 밤마다) (MBC, 2008). Kim Bum-sang (Lee Dong-gun) joins the CHA in episode 2 as a commissioner.

Crown Prince Lee Shin (Ju Ji-hoon) and Shin Chae-kyeong (Yoon Eun-hye) come to watch an opera at the Theater Yong [극장 용] located at this museum in episode 15 of Goong/Princess Hours (궁) (MBC, 2006). To his dismay and amusement, Chae-kyeong falls asleep. When being interviewed after the show, Lee Shin kisses Chae-kyeong unexpectedly on her cheek.

National Museum of Korea [국립중앙박물관/國立中央博物館] is South Korea’s most important museum, and one of the largest in Asia with its three floors. It located inside Yongsan Family Park [용산가족공원] in Seoul’s neighborhood Seobinggo [Seobinggo-dong/서빙고동], in the Yongsan District [Yongsan-gu/용산구] and is served by the Bus Stop National Museum of Korea — Yongsan Family Park [국립중앙박물관.용산가족공원 정류장]. Established in 1945, it was moved to its current location in 2005. The current building was designed in 1995 by Junglim Architects & Engineers (대한민국 정림건축 종합건축사사무소) and construciton was completed in 2004. The architecture firm received the Energy Efficiency Building Awards (에너지효율건축대상) in 2008 and the Grand Prize of Seoul Love Citizen Award (서울사랑시민상) in 2006.

As a history and art museum, it is known for housing several national treasures. Among them: the Great Bell of Bosingak (#8), the Pensive Bodhisattva (#83), the Ten-Story Pagoda from Gyeongcheonsa Temple (#86), an Incense Burner (#95), the Gold Crown (#191) and the Album of Genre Painting by Danwon (#527). The museum also carries out research activities.
