Bang Young-baek (Lee Ho-won / Hoya of INFINITE) and Song Ha-jin (Lee Na-eun) borrow some books at this library when hanging out together in the afternoon in Track 2 of Hip Hop King – Nassna Street (힙합왕-나스나길) (SBS, 2019).
It is in front of this library that Yoo Ji-ho (Jung Hae-in) stops the car and both him and Lee Jung-in (Han Ji-min) have a heart to heart talk about their feelings and their future relationship in episodes 8-9 (full episode 4 and 5) of One Spring Night (봄밤) (MBC, 2019).
Kim Jin-hyeok (Park Bo-gum) comes here in episode 2 of Encounter/Boyfriend (남자친구) (tvN, 2018-19).
On the day of the first snow, Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho) drives up to the street east of this library in direction Namsan Tower in episode 5 of Legend of the Blue Sea (푸른 바다의 전설) (SBS, 2016-17). In the same time, Sim Chung (Gianna Jun) gets of the bus right in front of this library and runs towards the same street and gets hit by Heo Chi-hyun’s (Lee Ji-hoon) car.
Namsan Public Library [남산도서관 or 서울특별시립남산도서관], established in 1922 during the Japanese occupation, is one of the Seoul Metropolitan public libraries. It sits at the feet of Namsan Mountain [남산] in Seoul’s neighborhood Huam [Huam-dong/후암동] in the Yongsan District [Yongsan-gu/용산구], and right next to the Ahn Junggeun Memorial Museum [안중근의사기념관]. The statue [퇴계이황선생상] briefly seen in the One Spring Night scene is of 16th century Confucian scholar Yi Hwang (이황), who also had the pen name Toegye (퇴계).
