Naeoe Juga [내외주가] (2015—2020)

A Piece of Your Mind (2020); Like (2019); You Drive Me Crazy! (2018)

This is seen as the house that Moon Ha-won (Jung Hae-in) stays at in A Piece of Your Mind/Half of a Half (반의 반) (tvN, 2020), and where Han Seo-woo (Chae Soo-bin) begins to spend her time with him.

Kim Rae-wan (Kim Seon-ho) and Han Eun-seong (Lee Yoo-young) tries to pick apricots hanging on a tree from outside this house in episode 2 of You Drive Me Crazy! (미치겠다, 너땜에!) (MBC, 2018).

Web Drama filmed here

Members of the Content Creators club dash past this house in a frenzy after a run-in with ‘middle school students’ goes awry in episode 2 of web drama Like (라이크) (Dingo Story, 2019).

Naeoe Juga [내외주가] was a traditional Korean ‘liquor cultural space’ owned and run by Mr Bak Rok-dam, who is the director of the Korean Traditional Liquor Research Institute [한국전통주연구소] until 2020. Along with Korean side dishes and other menu items, the focus of this place was the in-house wine created by Mr Bak — notably, his signature brand ‘Flames in the Water’ (물에가둔불). As of 2021, this house is under construction and it seems that it is turned into a private site.

The house is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Ogin [Ogin-dong/옥인동] that makes up parts of the neighborhood Cheongunhyoja [Cheongunhyoja-dong/청운효자동] in the Jongno District [Jongno-gu/종로구]. It’s located just a few steps away from Bar Omusa [오무사] and Flower Café Goyo [고요].

  1. Hi Marion, out of all of the K-dramas I have watched this location captured my heart the most. I could just imagine seeing this place up close. Its incredible how I have become so attached to a place I have never been to before. I wonder if the acoustics were as amazing as Han Seo-woo described.

    1. Hi Jaden, if wonder if its the ‘warm minimalism’ of the place?! What is great, though, is that we can inspire ourselves from these sort of places for our own decoration — even if the sofa in front of the window didn’t do the trick at my place, I tried it at least ;).

  2. A place that reminded me of my possible future

Loved every scene that was filmed in this location, if the house were actually available to buy/rent or whatever i would have used all my life savings to buy it. Every scene in this location made me feel some type of way as if i myself were there ,it created this simple yet beautiful atmosphere along with the exceptional acting of the actors. The scenes in this place gave me goosebumps but the good type, it was truly beautiful.

    1. Hi jaden, this is so lovely how you have put it! This is exactly the reason why this house was my favorite location of 2020 and probably one of my all-time fav locations. Thank you very much for these words, i.e. your more than perfect site description.
