Lee Dam (Hyeri of Girl’s Day) and her blind date (special appearance by Jang Sung-kyu) head to this cafe after their meal in episode 6 of My Roommate Is A Gumiho/Frightening Cohabitation (간 떨어지는 동거) (tvN, 2021), where Shin Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong) also happens to be.
Park Sae-Ro-Yi (Park Seo-joon), Jo Yi-seo (Kim Da-mi) and Oh Soo-a (Kwon Na-ra) discuss promoting Danbam at this café in episode 4 of Itaewon Class (이태원 클라쓰) (JTBC, 2020); but actually it’s an uncomfortable, tense situation for everyone involved.
This place was known as YOLO Cafe in Because This Is My First Life/This Life Is Our First (이번 생은 처음이라) (tvN, 2017). The cafe, run by Yeon Bok-nam (Kim Min-gue) and his father, was where Ji-ho (Jung So-min) got a job at in episode 6. Most of the principal characters of the show would have come through here for a visit at some point in the drama. It was also where Se-hee (Kim Min-ki) did an epic back flip in episode 8, in an attempt to avoid falling on Bok-nam’s expensive motorcycle.
In real life, this place is known as The Lost Continent of Mu [무대륙] (or Mu for short) and functions as a multi-purpose event/culture space, along with a cafe called ‘MU To Go’. It is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Hapjeong [Hapjeong-dong/합정] in the Mapo District [Mapo-gu/마포구], near the Danginri Thermal Power Plant [당인리화력발전소].
