The fairy trio of Teacher Goo (Ahn Kil-sang), Mountain God/Wizard Park (Kim Min-kyu) and Fairy Oh (Hwang Young-hee) come to ‘Gyeryong Station’ in episode 3 of Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter/Gyeryong Fairy Tale/Tale of Fairy (계룡선녀전) (tvN, 2018) wanting to take the free ‘express train’ — but was told that it no longer runs.
In real life, this is actually Milyang or Miryang Station [밀양역] — a KTX station on the Gyeongbu Line. Opened in 1905, it is one of the oldest stations in South Korea and still serves trains on the Gyeongbu Line [Gyeongbuseon/경부선]. The original station was destroyed by a fire and rebuilt in its today’s form in 1982. Located in Milyang’s neighborhood of Gagok [Gagok-dong/가곡동], this station is a major gateway for travelers to and from the South Gyeongsang Province [Gyeongsangnam-do/경상남도].
