In episode 1 of Jugglers (저글러스) (KBS2, 2017-2018), Jwa Yun-i (Baek Jin-hee) and Nam Chi-won (Choi Daniel) have separate appointments at this hotel. While in the middle of meeting a client, Yun-i was unceremoniously dragged out of the restaurant she was at by her then-boss’ wife, who suspected her of having an affair with him. In episode 7, this was the location of the Best Boss Award ceremony, and where Chi-won met with Yun-i’s mother after she found out that he’s Yun-i’s boss.
Appearances as The Ritz-Carlton Seoul
This building — when it was still The Ritz-Carlton Seoul — appears as The L-State in Jealousy Incarnate (질투의 화신) (SBS, 2016), belonging to Ko Jung-won’s (Go Kyung-pyo) family. This is where his mother stays, where she celebrated her wedding day alone in episode 9, and where we see her get out of the hotel in episode 13. This is also where Pyo Na-ri (Gong Hyo-jin) has a blind date in episode 15 and both Jung-won and Lee Hwa-shin (Cho Jung-seok) get jealous – ending with Hwa-shin being thrown out of the hotel.
The engagement party of Cha Song-joo (Kwon Sang-woo) and Han Yu-ri (Kim Tae-hee) takes place at this hotel in episode 11 of Stairway to Heaven (천국의 계단) (SBS, 2003-04). When Song-joo turns to Han Jung-Seo (Choi Ji-Woo) with the engagement ring in hand, she leave the hall when seeing that Han Tae-hwa (Shin Hyeon-jun) gets arrested before he can join the party.
The annual meeting of music companies in episodes 13-14 of Beautiful Days (아름다운 날들) (SBS, 2001) is held at this hotel and Victory Records and Muse Records directors take part. To Lee Min-Chul’s (Lee Byung-Hun) and Lee Jung-Choon’s (Lee Jung-Kil) surprise their (respectively) half-brother and son Lee Sun-Jae (Ryu Si-Won) appears at the meeting at the side of rival Muse president Yang Kyung-Hee aka Yang Mimi (Lee Whee-Hyang) as Muse’s new producer. In episode 14, Min-chul takes Sun-Tae apart and orders him to stop his involvement with Muse. This is also where Min-chul proposes to Kim Yun-Soo (Choi Ji-Woo) — in the suite on the 17th floor.
Formerly known as The Ritz-Carlton Seoul, this hotel – located in Gangnam – reopened in September 2017 as Le Meridien Seoul [르 메르디앙 서울]. Some of the hotel’s restaurants and facilities that have been featured include Elements Restaurant, LAB XXIV [랩24]) (which appears have relocated here from its previous location in Cheongdam-dong), M Contemporary, and the Davinci Ballroom, which are all located in the same building.
