Oh Soo-jae (Seo Hyun-jin) is given a professorship in law at this university after being demoted from her position at TK Law Firm in episode 1 of Why Her/Why Oh Soo-jae (Wae Osujaeinga/왜 오수재인가) (SBS, 2022). This is also where she meets Gong Chan (Hwang In-youp) again as one of her students.

Parts of this campus appear as ‘Seuli High School’ in Extraordinary You/Ha-Ru Found by Chance/A Day Found by Chance/Suddenly One Day (어쩌다 발견한 하루) (MBC, 2019) — as seen in episode 2 (full episode 1) and 4 (full episode 2), for instance.

A lost Ko Mi-ran (Won Jin-a) wanders around this campus in 2019 to find a trace of her past, in episode 2 of Melting Me Softly/Let Me Melt (날 녹여주오) (tvN, 2019).

The main building of this campus was featured in episode 16 of Mister Sunshine/Mr. Sunshine (미스터 션샤인) (tvN, 2018).

The Daemyeong campus appears as ‘Hankook University’ in the first 4 episodes of Love Rain (사랑비) (KBS2, 2012). It is where everyone goes to university the 1970s and where Seo In-ha (Jang Geun-seok) falls for Kim Yoon-hee (Yoon-a) in 3 seconds. The Adams Building and the Open Air Auditorium are seen, among others.

This university appears as the royal university that Lee Jae-ha (Lee Seung-gi) attends in The King 2 Hearts/King2Hearts (더킹 투하츠) (MBC, 2012).

The East-West Cultural Center [계명대학교 대명캠퍼스 동서문화관] building’s staircase serves as Geum Jan-di’s (Goo Hye-sun) hide-out at Shinhwa High School in Boys Over Flowers/Boys Before Flowers (꽃보다 남자) (KBS2, 2009) and Goo Jun-pyo (Lee Min-ho) studies at the main building, among others. Other parts of Shinhwa High School are filmed at Keimyung’s Seongseo Campus and the ChangeUp Campus — Yangpyeong Camp (previously part of Gyeonggi English Village).

Some buildings of this campus appear as parts of ‘Gwak Has High School’ in The Snow Queen (눈의 여왕) (KBS2, 2006-07) — as seen in episode 1.

Jin Sun-mi (Chae Rim), Heo Young-mi (Kim So-yeon) and Jo Cho-jae (Kim Hyo-jin) start their studies at this university in episode 1 of All About Eve (이브의 모든것) (MBC, 2000).

Kang Woo-suk (Park Sang-won) studies law at this university and is the student representative of its law faculty in the mid-1970s in episode 2 of Sandglass/The Hourglass (모래시계) (SBS, 1995) and while all other students are organizing protests, he takes exams and also gets to know Yoon Hye-rin (Go Hyun-jung).

Keimyung University [계명대학교], founded in 1899 by an American missionary and two local Presbyterian Church leaders, is a private university located with its two campuses — Daemyeong and Seongseo — both located in the city of Daegu. The Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center [계명대학교 동산병원] is sometimes counted as the third campus, Dongsan Campus.

    This is really far from Seoul. Do they allow tourist to just go in for a picture? Want to go there to take photos

    1. hello JM! thanks for asking. there doesn’t seem to be much restrictions for non-students to be on campus, as long as the people visiting are respectful of it being an educational institution, and that they are not being disruptive, noisy etc. as long as this is borne in mind, it should be fine 🙂 depending on when you choose to visit, there may not be a lot of people either!
