Sa Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) and An Jeong-ha (Park So-dam) meet at this building for an afternoon together in episode 4 of Record of Youth/The Moment/Youth Record (청춘기록) (tvN, 2020).
KB Rockstar Cheongchun Maru [KB청춘마루], opened on April 27 2018, is a three-story culture complex run by one of South Korea’s leading banks, KB Kookmin Bank. This complex is part of the “slow banking” movement, in which banks started to transform former bank spaces into cultural complexes or rent out building space within their banks to other shops to attract (young) clients. For this project, a 40-year-old branch was remodeled with a yellow landmark staircase; it aims to target the youth, hence its name: young (cheongchun) and floor (maru). After four month of free access, the building –which houses a cafe, rooftop bar, a stage, digital library and seminar rooms– can now only be accessed by the bank’s clients via its mobile application.
