This is where Sim Chung (Gianna Jun) arrives in South Korea three years after she’s parted in episode 20 in Legend of the Blue Sea (푸른 바다의 전설) (SBS, 2016-17); she arrives right next to the Hourglass aka Moraeshigae Park [모래시계공원]; a major swimming spot at Jeongdongjin Beach. She lets herself deliver some clothes and gets ready to go to Seoul.
In Plus Nine Boys (아홉수 소년) (tvN, 2014), Kang Jin-Goo (Kim Young-Kwang) and Ma Se-Young (Kyung Soo-Jin) eat here at a sort of tent-restaurant in episode 3 at the beach when checking out the location for work. The tent-restaurant is situated at the middle of the beach right next to Jeongdongjin Railway Station [정동진역] — another major swimming spot here — and one needs to use an under path to get there; under path which Jin-Goo takes also to piggyback drunk Se-Young to their hotel along 강원 강릉시 강동면 정동진리 267-4 street.
Cha Jae-Wan (Lee Dong-Wook) and Ah Mo-Ne (Lee Da-Hae) also come here on a date in the rain in episode 26 of Hotel King (호텔킹) (MBC, 2014).
Also seen in Alone in Love (연애시대) (SBS, 2006).
Jeongdongjin Beach [정동진해수욕장] is located in the village of Jeongdongjin-ri [정동진리] in Gangneung’s Gangdong Township [Gangdong-myeon/강동면], on South Korea’s east coast. It is easily recognizable by the yacht that frames one side of it.
