Imjingak [임진각/臨津閣] is a park located along the banks of Imjin River in the villlage of Majeong [Majeong-ri/마정리] in Paju’s Musan Township [Munsan-eup/문산읍]. It was built in 1972 as a hopeful bridge between those separated by the Korean War, as it is just 7km away from the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). It is now a key location for those keen on learning more about the Korea War, as it has various sites and monuments pertaining to it. In 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism –announced through the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)– selected this park as one of the ‘100 Must-Visit Spots in Korea’ for 2021-2022.

It is also known as Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri/Imjingak Resort [임진각평화누리/임진각국민관광지], and Pyeonghwa Land [평화랜드] — or ‘Peace Land’ — amusement park is one of the attractions within. Nuri Peace Park [임진각 평화누리공원] takes 30th place in CNN’s 2019 list of 50 beautiful places to visit in South Korea.
