Huntington Beach Pier is a 1,850 feet (560 m) long municipal pier located in the seaside city of Huntington Beach in Orange County, Southern California. First build in around 1902, it was two times destroyed in the 1980s due to storms and the new, contemporary pier was constructed in 1992. Hawaiian legendary surfers George Freeth and Duke Kahanamoku, were known to come to surf here and now the annual U.S. Open of Surfing, the largest surfing competition worldwide, takes place at the south side of the pier.
The pier is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) since August 24, 1989.
