Cheomseongdae Observatory [첨성대]
This is one of the sites that Yoo Ja-sung (Kim Ji-suk) visits with Na Young-won (Jung So-min) during their date-trip in episode 16 of Monthly Magazine Home/Monthly House (월간 집) (JTBC, 2021). He plans every minute of their trip to maximize the number of sites to visit and thus collect the most of memories. Just as they stand in front of the observatory, the alarm rings and he rushes her to the next location. Later in the episode, Young-won comes back her on her own in remembrance of their trip.
A school retreat brings everyone to this site in episode 3 of Reply 1988 (응답하라 1988) (tvN, 2015-16).

Cheomseongdae Pink Muhly
[경주핑크뮬리군락지 or 첨성대 핑크뮬리]
This site is a stop on a school trip in episode 8 of True Beauty/Yeoshingangrim (여신강림) (tvN, 2020-21). A feverish Im Ju-kyeong (Moon Ga-young) doesn’t partake in the visit but stays behind on the bus. Han Seo-jun (Hwang In-youp) brings her medicine (and a bracelet made out of pink muhly grass) and enjoys the moment together until Lee Su-ho (Cha Eun-woo) gets on. Su-ho puts forth a challenge and it ends with both of them fighting in the pink muhly fields.
Gyeongju Historic Areas [경주역사유적지구] —also known as Gyeongju Historic Site, Wolseong District
[경주역사유적 월성지구]— is an umbrella term for a 128,429㎡ area traversing Gyeongju’s neighborhoods Wolseong [Wolseong-dong/월성동] and Hwangnam [Hwangnam-dong/황남동], which contains various important historic sites dating back to the Silla Period.
The most important relict of this area is undoubtedly the Cheomseongdae Observatory [첨성대/瞻星臺], currently the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in the far East (National Treasure No. 31), which was constructed in the 7th Century. There is also the Ancient Tombs in Inwang-dong, 23 tombs that are part of the Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex (Historic Site No. 512). In autumn, this site is also a popular attraction for its pink mulhy and silver grass fields.
In 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism —announced through the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)— selected this site as one of the ‘100 Must-Visit Spots in Korea’ for 2021-2022.
