This is the art gallery ‘Hwain Gallery’ where Hui-ju (Go Hyun-jung) and Woo-jae’s (Kim Jae-young) art exhibit is held, as seen for instance in episode 6 of Reflection of You (너를 닮은 사람) (JTBC, 2021).
Gana Art Center [가나아트센터] —also known on occasion as Gana Art Gallery— is a contemporary art gallery located in Seoul’s neighborhood Pyeongchang [Pyeongchang-dong/평창동], in the Jongno District [Jongno-gu/종로구]. It remains, in its own words, as “one of Korea’s most prestigious and influential art institutions today”.
Originally established in Insa-dong in 1983 by founder Lee Ho-jae, the gallery moved to this current location in 1998. This Pyeongchang building was created by Paris-based architecture firm Wilmotte & Associés SA in cooperation with South Korean Total Design. The main challenge and concern for the architecture team was “to make best use of the natural slope of the ground and the magnificent view that the site enjoys”.
