Donghwa Memorial Park [파주동화경모공원], opened in 1995, is a cemetery and memorial park created as “a place of remembrance for displaced North Koreans” and to allow families to pay their respects on important holidays. Funded by the Central Federation of North Korean Citizens’ Associations (이북도민회중앙연합회), it is also used as “a training center for unification and security education, where events can be held to reflect and wish for free, democratic reunification“.

The memorial park is located in Paju’s village Beopheung-ri [법흥리] in the Tanhyeon Township [Tanhyeon-myeon/탄현면]; a short drive to/from Heyri Art Village [헤이리예술마을]. It has been designated as a national cemetery since October 2021 as the late president Roh Tae-woo (노태우, 1932-2021) is laid to rest there.
