Doharu Confectionery [도하루제과]

Who Are You? (2008)

This location appears as Kim Young-ae’s (Park Ji-young) cross-stitch shop in Who Are You? (Nuguseyo?/누구세요?) (MBC, 2008), as seen, for instance, in episodes 5-6 and 8-9.

Doharu Confectionery [도하루제과], opened in 2021, is a bakery-shop that offers bakery lessons, located in Seoul’s neighborhood Buam [Buam-dong/부암동] in the Jongno District [Jongno-gu/종로구]. It sits in walking distance to/from Creativity Garden [창의문뜰], Yoon Dong-Ju Literature Museum [윤동주문학관], this private house, and CU — Buam-dong Branch [CU 부암럭키점].

Up till around June 2020 and before being transformed into Doharu Confectionery, this was Italian restaurant ‘DaPasta’ [다 파스타] (2014-20). According to this blog, it was one of the oldest stores in Buam as of 2019 and easily recognizable by its trademark yellow exterior. Even prior to that, the space –which then had a light blue exterior– was occupied by Shortcake [쇼트케이크] (2008-2014), the physical store of an online shop selling various lifestyle goods, ranging from kitchen and living items to kids’ products. When renovating the place, Doharu Confectionary got rid of this place’s trademark window separations.

There is no separate parking space available. There is a paid parking lot nearby, but because it is small, parking may be difficult on weekends, so use of public transportation is recommended!
