While in a session, the Shaman (Kim Seol-jin) sees a hareubang suddenly appear at this ranch but also deflating as soon as it was erected in episode 1 of You Raise Me Up (유 레이즈 미 업) (Wave, 2021) and Do Yong-sik (Yoon Si-yoon) is all confused how to interpret this.

Ji Oh (Kim Rae-won) and Ha Neul-ae-goo-reum (Lee Da-hee) come here on a date in episode 8 of L.U.C.A.: The Beginning / LUCA (루카: 더 비기닝) (tvN, 2021) and this is where they take their “wedding photos” too.

Yoon So-ah (Shin Se-kyung) brings Habaek (Nam Joo-hyuk) here on a trip with Nam Soo-ri (Park Kyu-sun) in tow in episode 4 and 5 of Bride of the Water God 2017/The Bride of Habaek (하백의 신부 2017) (tvN, 2017). While So-Ah daydreams under a tree, Habaek watches her and apologizes in advance for playing with her life to test his powers. It is here that Kang Ji-woon (Jung Il-woo) confesses his feelings to Eun Ha-won (Park So-dam) — and this with an empty chocolate box— while walking through the green pastures in episode 12 of Cinderella and Four Knights (신데렐라와 네 명의 기사) (tvN, 2016). It’s also where their first, non-alcohol-incited kiss happens.

This is where the tree is that is dedicated to the memory of Kim Haeng-ah’s (Jung Ryeo-won) father in Bubblegum/Bubble Gum (풍선껌) (tvN, 2015). She visits with Park Ri-hwan (Lee Dong-wook) in episode 6; both proudly showing off that they are dating. Earlier that day, Haeng-ah’s mother had already paid this place a visit.

Kim Tae-hyun (Joo Won) and Han Yeo-jin (Kim Tae-hee) end up at this ranch on their date in episode 9 of Yong-Pal/The Gang Doctor (용팔이) (SBS, 2015) and Yeo-jin leans in for a kiss.

Ma Se-young (Kyung Soo-jin) and Kang Jin-gu (Kim Young-kwang) come here when putting together a trip offer for the travel agency they work at in episode 4 of Plus Nine Boys (아홉수 소년) (tvN, 2014), which ends up with Jin-gu kissing (not very welcomed) Se-young.

Daegwallyeong Sky Ranch [대관령 하늘목장] is located in the village of Hoenggye [Hoenggye-ri/횡계리] in Pyeongchang County’s township Daegwalnyeong-myeon [대관령면]. This ranch takes up place 20 in CNN’s 2019 list of 50 beautiful places to visit in South Korea. In 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism —announced through the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)— selected this ranch as one of the ‘100 Must-Visit Spots in Korea’ for 2021-2022.
