Cafe Poeté [포에트]
May 2019 —

Director Han Jae-won (Dong Hyun-bae) proposes to screenwriter No Do-yoon (Lim Do-yoon) of the variety show ‘So I Married An Anti-Fan’ at this café in final episode 16 of So I Married An Anti-Fan (그래서 나는 안티팬과 결혼했다) (Naver TV, 2021).

Lee Kyeong-woo (YoungHoon from THE BOYZ) works part-time at this café in web drama Love Revolution (Yeonaehyeokmyeong/연애혁명) (Kakao TV, 2020) — as seen in episode 9.

Lee Jin-sook (Won Mi-kyung) and her daughter Kim Eun-joo (Choo Ja-hyun) come to this café in episode 9 of My Unfamiliar Family ([아는 건 별로 없지만] 가족입니다) (tvN, 2020) after she has told her about her past and her father.

Cafe Blüte [까페 블뤼테]

This café was seen in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (역도요정 김복주) (MBC, 2016-17). Kim Bok-Joo (Lee Sung-Kyung) is asked by her crush Jung Jae-Yi (Lee Jae-Yoon) to meet here in episode 10 because he wants to apologize to her; it’s a total mortifying moment for her and she leaves as quick as possible. In episode 9, we see Bok-Joo and Jung Joon-Hyung (Nam Joo-Hyuk) walk down a street while passing Restaurant 천하 [address: 서울 마포구 와우산로14길 4]. This is actually the street that leads up to café Blüte; the restaurant and the café being only two houses apart. This is the same street you’ll be taking if you’d go to Café Blüte from Sangsu Station (Line 6).

In episode 7 of Ex-Girlfriends’ Club/Ex-Girlfriend Club (구여친클럽) (tvN, 2015), Bang Myeong-soo (Byun Yo-han) first meets Do Sang-Woo (Jo Gun) at this café to tell him that he will confess to Kim Soo-jin (Song Ji-hyo). A little later, it is also here that he meets Soo-jin who takes a short break from a busy workday. When Myeong-soo tries to confess, he is constantly interrupted by her ringing phone and she also has to leave before he even has the chance to formulate his confession.

In Plus Nine Boys (아홉수 소년) (tvN, 2014), this is Joo Da-In’s (Yoo Da-in) café.

In Love Rain (사랑비) (KBS2, 2012), this place appears as organic café General Doctor and is Seo Joon’s (Jang Geun-Suk) office and Jung Hana’s (Yoona) garden. The house was also Seo Joon’s studio, the clinic/cafe of Lee Sun-ho (Kim Shi-hoo) and where Seo Joon and Hana stayed on the second floor (their rooms were right next to each other). In the pictures taken by Mich, the room with the blue wall was Seo Joon’s room, and the room with the yellow room was Hana’s. The other pictures are of the common area that the characters used to hang out at.

Yoon’s Color [윤스칼라]

Seo Geon-ho (Im Joo-hwan) and Kim Bo-ra (Sung Yu-ri) meet up twice at this café in The Snow Queen (눈의 여왕) (KBS2, 2006-07). In episode 7, Bo-ra unexpectedly meets her mother here and in episode 9 Geon-ho breaks up with her at this café.

Cafe Poete [포에트] is a café located in Seoul’s neighborhood Seogang [Seogang-dong/서강동] (formerly Sangsu [Sangsu-dong/상수동]) in the Mapo District [Mapo-gu/마포구]. It was formerly known as Four Seasons House [포시즌 하우스], then as Yoon’s Color [윤스칼라] before it was re-named Cafe Blüte [까페 블뤼테]. It is currently known as Cafe Poeté [포에트], and has been known as such since May 2019.

As of KDL’s previous visit in June 2017, it had an exhibition where you can see props and pictures of the famous four-part dramas Autumn in my Heart (가을동화) (KBS2, 2000), Winter Sonata (겨울연가) (KBS2, 2002), Summer Scent (여름향기) (KBS2, 2003), and Spring Waltz (봄의 왈츠) (KBS2, 2006); reason why this place was first called ‘Four Season House’. Another exhibition part is the Love Rain set on the 2nd floor. These exhibition spaces were converted into three rooms (A,B and G) that can rented for meetings, events, pop-up stores, etc. and are now called ‘Shoreditch Home’.

  1. It’s the Love Rain house!!!

Hi from Canada! My all time favorite kdrama is Love Rain and I fell in love with this house but was reluctant to search for the filming location because I was worried it would have changed too much in 8 years. I was so relieved to see these photos! I’m so happy that at least the second floor is still the same and the two paintings are there!!! The garden is unfortunately overgrown but yay, the shed’s still there! I’d love to go see this beautiful place one day.

    1. hello Gillian! thank you for the lovely note. i hope you have the chance to visit this place too (after travel is made possible again)! these photos were taken back in 2017 so not sure how much has changed since the new tenant moved in, but hope the second floor exhibition is still there. glad to still see love for Love Rain! be sure to check out our other Love Rain locations 🙂

  2. hello Keanna! yes, the cafe staff would allow visitors to view the rooms on the 2nd floor if you ask. typically, you’ll have to be a customer to be able to do so, so do place an order with the cafe! maybe ask them to hold your order if you’d like to visit the rooms first, before coming back down. The shed on the outside (which was seen in Summer Scent) is open to all. As for the Drama Gallery in the basement, please check with the cafe staff. hope this helps!

  3. Interested to go

Are the spots were they filmed it (the rooms, etc) accessible to the public?
