Choong Ang High School [중앙고등학교]

Twelve Days (2018); Temperature of Love (2017); Goblin (2016-17); She is Nineteen (2004); Winter Sonata (2002-03)

In episode 2 of Twelve Nights (열두밤) (Channel A, 2018), this school appears as ‘Aram Junior High School’, the school that Han Yoo-kyung (Han Seung-yeon, formerly of Kara) and her friend Kang Chae-won (Lee Yea-eun) have attended and decide to visit on Yoo-kyung’s third day in Seoul of her short 4-days stay in Seoul in 2010. At the school’s library, they go through their high school book and discover what they dreamed themselves to be as 25 years-old; the age they both have now.

This is where Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) goes to school in Goblin/Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (쓸쓸하고 찬란하神 – 도깨비) (tvN, 2016-17).

Kang Seung-jae (Yoon Kye-sang) attends this high school in She Is Nineteen/My Sister-in-Law is 19/My 19 Year Old Sister-in-Law (형수님은 열아홉) (SBS, 2004). Han Yoo-min (Jung Da-bin) joins him in episode 4.

Jung Yoo-jin (Choi Ji-woo), Kim Sang-hyuk (Park Yong-ha), Oh Chae-lin (Park Sol-mi) and the rest all go to this high school, with Kang Jun-sang (Bae Yong-jun) joining them as a new student in episode 1 of Winter Sonata (겨울연가) (KBS2, 2002-03). In the story, the school is supposed to be located outside Seoul.

We see the gates of this high school in the background when On Jung-sun (Yang Se-jong) and Lee Hyun-soo (Seo Hyun-jin) find shelter here from the rain in episode 2 of Temperature of Love (사랑의 온도) (SBS, 2017) in front of Luna Touch.

  1. Can we enter the place? i visited last time on weekday and was afraid to get in

    1. hello Vie! thanks for checking. would probably be best not to enter the school as it may be considered ‘trespassing’. unlike Korean universities, it doesn’t seem like the elementary/middle/high schools are as open to visitors. hope this helps!

  2. address on english not korean?

    1. Hi! It’s up — but it’s the address according to the old system, though. Chong Ang High School is extremely easy to get to. Just make a left turn at the first street after Exit 3 of Anguk Station and walk straight. Should be a 10-15min walk if I remember correctly and especially the last bit is really lovely.
