Camerata [카메라타]

Vincenzo (2021)

Babel Tower stock holders receive an urgent message from Jang Joon-woo/Jang Han-seok (Ok Taec-yeon from 2PM) to assemble at this space in episode 18 of Vincenzo (빈센조) (tvN/Netflix, 2021). But in fact, this was just another move by Vincenzo Cassano/Park Joo-hyung (Song Joong-ki) to throw them off.

Camerata [카메라타] –also known as Hwang In-yong Music Space Camerata or ‘H’ Camerata Music Studio and Gallery [황인용뮤직스페이스카메라타]– is a cultural space built in 2003 that is dedicated to music. It is located in Heyri Art Village [헤이리예술마을] — which makes up part of the village of Beopheung [Beopheung-ri/법흥리] in Paju’s Tanhyeon Township [Tanhyeon-myeon/탄현면], in short walking distance to/from Gallery White Block [화이트블럭].

The space was established by radio DJ Hwang In-yong (황인용) when he retired to share his passion for music. Aside from housing his impressive LP/CD collection and displaying his love for analog equipment, the space is also open for visitors to read books and listen to (analog) music. Classical concerts are also held here.

The 10 m high concrete building was designed by architect Cho Byoung-Soo (조병수) of BCHO Architects who also designed quite a few other buildings in Heyri Art Village. He earned the KIA National Award for for this house.
