Na Young-won (Jung So-min) picks up something at this café for work and Yoo Ja-sung (Kim Ji-seok) drives her here in episode 6 of Monthly Magazine Home/Monthly House (월간 집) (JTBC, 2021). The café owner offers Young-won the use of their wood workshop, and she creates a wood key chain for Ja-sung in form of a house as a surprise gift.
Cafe Peynet [헤몽페네] or Café Peynet Coffee Shop & Woodworking Shop [헤몽페네 커피집&목공소], opened in 2016, is a coffee shop and gallery located at Dolgot-gil [돌곶이길] in Paju’s neighborhood Seopae [Seopae-dong/서패동]—under its administrative neighborhood Gyoha [Gyoha-dong/교하동]; on the same street as and in short walking distance to/from café Lapland [라플란드] and Cafe Ainos [아이노스] and a 10 min. walk to/from Mediterium [메디테리움].
Named after French graphic artist Raymond Peynet (1908-1999), the cafe abides by the motto “Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death and sweet as love”, as written above the entry door. The illustrator owner, who also runs Oido Coffee House [오이도커피집의] in Siheung City [시흥시], established the flea market Simhaksan Acorn (or Dotori) Market [도토리마켓(플리마켓)] in 2017, which takes place along the street in front of this café.
