Bugang Catholic Church or Bugang Cathedral [부강성당], founded on 21 April 1957, is a Catholic church located in the village Bugang [Bugang-ri/부강리] in Sejong’s Bugang Township [Bugang-myeon/부강면]; over 1.5 hours south of Seoul by car. It is said to “have preserved the history of Catholic activity in the Bugang region after the Korean War“. As of June 2020, it is listed as National Registered Cultural Heritage No. 784, as it “shows the rarity in terms of architectural history”, and “is also of high preservation value”.

The church buildings incorporate both Western and Korean-style architecture, with its brick-built cathedral and a hanok that serves as an office. Prior to the cathedral being built in 1962, the hanok is said to have served as its main hall.

The plaque on the side of the cathedral is from the Biblical book of Isaiah: “For my house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations” (나의 집은 모든 민족들을 위한 기도의 집이라 불리리라) (56:7).
