Buan Cine Theme Park [부안영상테마파크] (also known as Buan Yeongsang Theme Park), is a historical drama (sageuks) film set that spans more than 14,000m², established in July 2005 by North Jeolla Province [Jeollabuk-do/전라북도], Buan County and KBS Art Vision [KBS 아트비전이]. According to KDL contributor Lr, this film set “is mostly used for movies as an alternative to Mungyeong Saejae Open Film Set [문경새재촬영장 (오픈세트장)] and Korean Folk Village [한국민속촌].”
Gyeongbokgung Palace [경복궁] was recreated in the theme park’s folk village along with traditional houses of the noble class, village schools, traditional streets, a pond, a market street, and a fortress. The second section of the park is an indoor studio called Sunset Village. Apart from visiting the folk village, visitors can also experience activities like archery, horse riding, film clothing dress-ups, and a light show at night.
This theme park is located in the village of Gyeokpo [Gyeokpo-ri/격포리] in Buan County’s Byeonsan Township [Byeonsan-myeon/변산면].
