Blume Museum of Contemporary Art [블루메미술관]

Run On (2020-21); Live On (2020); Missing: The Other Side (2020); Love Affairs in the Afternoon (2019); Romance Is A Bonus Book (2019)

Seo Dan-a (Choi Soo-young) and Lee Yeong-hwa (Kang Tae-oh) meet up by coincidence at this museum (appearing as ‘Seomyung Art Museum’) in final episode 16 of Run On (런온) (JTBC/Netflix, 2020-21).

Detective Shin Joon-ho (Ha-Joon) comes to this gallery in episode 9 of Missing: The Other Side (미씽: 그들이 있었다) (OCN, 2020) to reminiscent a moment when he visited Lee Jong-a (Ahn So-hee) here while on a free day from army duty.

The exterior of this museum appears as the exterior of Gallery White Block; a gallery run by Lee Young-jae’s (Choi Byung-mo) long-time friend Kim Bit-na (Yoo Seo-jin) whom he visits in episode 3 of Love Affairs in the Afternoon (평일 오후 세시의 연인) (Channel A, 2019) to talk business.

Ji Seo-joon (Wi Ha-joon) and Song Hae-rin (Jung Eugene) come to this museum separately to view an art exhibition in episode 9 of Romance is a Bonus Book/Romance is a Supplement/How To Publish Love (로맨스는 별책부록) (tvN, 2019), but end up running into each other in front of one of the paintings. Surprised to see each other, they both drew the conclusions that the plans they’d tried to make didn’t work out or the people they were trying to contact didn’t respond to them.

Blume Garden Cafe

Baek Ho-rang (Jung Da-bin) and Kang Jae-yi (Yeon-woo) meet at this cafe (reluctantly) to work on their group in episode 2 of Live On (라이브온) (JTBC/Viki, 2020-21).

Blume Museum of Contemporary Art [블루메미술관] or BMOCA for short, is a contemporary art museum that showcases exhibitions with specialized themes, according to its biography. Opened in April 2013, the architectural signature of the museum is a tree that is incorporated into its facade — a work by architect Woo Kyung-Kook from YEKONG Architects & Planner. The museum’s German name (Blume) translates to ‘flower’.

The museum is located in Heyri Art Village [헤이리 예술마을] — which makes up part of the village of Beopheung [Beopheung-ri/법흥리] in Paju’s Tanhyeon Township [Tanhyeon-myeon/탄현면]. It is a short walk to/from both Homeo – Heyri Store [호메오 – 헤이리점] and Cafe Gomakwon [고막원 다방] (the museum is located between both places). It also houses a cafe, Blume Garden Cafe.
