Ho-rang (Kim Ga-eun) works at a restaurant in this shopping complex in Because This Is My First Life/This Life Is Our First (이번 생은 처음이라) (tvN, 2017), and a number of scenes were filmed here. As Ho-rang and her staff members were leaving after work in episode 3, for instance, her staff members spot Sim Won-Seok (Kim Min-Suk) standing along the walkway and start gushing over him, without knowing that he’s Ho-rang’s boyfriend. In episode 4, Ji-ho (Jung So-min) turns up at the restaurant after deciding to continue staying in Seoul, much to Ho-rang’s surprise. They then have a conversation at a bench on the ground level. This place appeared also in other scenes in episodes 1, 2, 13, 14 and 15.
Parts of this complex appear as Kim Seo-won’s (Choi Gang-hee) company in 7th Grade Civil Servant (7급 공무원) (MBC, 2013).
Avenue France Pangyo [아브뉴프랑 판교] is a French-themed shopping complex that bills itself as a ‘premium dining street’, located in Seongnam’s neighborhood Sampyeong (Sampyeong-dong/삼평동), in the Bundang District (Bundang-gu/분당구). It is around one hour south of Seoul by public transport.
Please note that the actual restaurant that Ho-rang works at, Butcher’s Cut [판교 아브뉴프랑], is located on level 2. Filming of 7th Grade Civil Servant took place when this complex was still under construction and scheduled to open in March of 2013.
