Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook) and Nam Ji-a (Jo Bo-ah) meet at this park in pisode 15 of Tale of the Nine Tailed/Tale of The Nine-Tailed Fox (구미호뎐) (tvN, 2020) and plan to spend the day on a date, just like a normal couple. Yeon, being the perfect boyfriend, even walks along the side of the road to protect Ji-ah. Later, they test their skills in a games arcade and eat ice cream.
Arisu Straw Performance Hall [아리수 스트로 공연장], or ‘Arisu Straw [아리수 스트로]’ for short, is a small park at the intersection of Yonsei-ro 12-gil [연세로12길] and Myeongmul-gil [명물길] in the Sinchon student precinct. It is a popular dating location in spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Since July 2016, the park has featured a display by Arisu Water [아리수], Seoul’s very own brand of tap water. The display with large colourful “taps” and information regarding Seoul’s tap water supply was installed to encourage Seoul’s citizens to drink the “weakly alkaline, healthy, tasty drinking water” and not bottled spring water. The park is also equipped with a stage and speaker facilities for busking. As shared by the head of the Seoul Waterworks Business Headquarters, “The Arisu drinking fountain that has been installed will not only function as a drinking fountain, but will also give citizens something to see and enjoy.”
This park is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Sinchon [Sinchon-dong/신촌동] in the Seodaemun District [Seodaemun-gu/서대문구]; in short walking distance to/from Sinchon Graffiti Tunnel [신촌벽화터널] (220 mts), Sinchon Station (Gyeongui Line) [신촌역] and Would U Like& — Edae Branch [우주라이크커피 이대점 거리]
