After tracking the whereabouts of Suk Min-joon (Choi Seung-yoon), Seo Do-won (Yoon Si-yoon) comes to this building in episode 9 of Train (트레인) (OCN, 2020) and heads straight for the ‘Inside Magte’ exhibition, where they both eventually come face to face with each other.
Anyoung Insadong [안녕인사동] is a “a cultural and entertainment shopping complex with numerous galleries, cafes, and shops“, which opened in October 2019 along Insadong-gil [인사동길]. It is located in Seoul’s neighborhood Gwanhun [Gwanhun-dong/관훈동] — under the administration of Jongno-126.96.36.199 ga-dong/Jongno 1(il).2(i).3(sam).4(sa) [종로188.8.131.52가동] — in the Jongno District [Jongno-gu/종로구] — which makes up part of popular tourist area Insadong. The building, which is also linked to Nine Tree Premier Hotel Insadong [나인트리프리미어호텔 인사동], is in walking distance to/from other notable Insadong landmarks such as Ssamzigil [쌈지길], Insa Art Plaza [인사아트 프라자], and Insadong Hanok Teahouse [한옥찻집].
The art exhibition seen in Train was the immersive art experience “Inside Magritte“, which featured “more than 100 artworks by [Belgian surrealist artist] René Magritte, reproduced with digital technologies, [to] offer an immersive experience that maximizes interaction with the master’s artworks,” noted journalist Park Yuna from The Korea Herald. It ran from 29 April to 13 September 2020 at the Insa Central Museum.
