Who doesn’t know Shinhwa High or Jeguk High?

Even if you don’t watch K-Dramas regularly, the importance of high schools in K-Dramaland is basic knowledge. Actually, there are not a lot of K-Dramas which make it without at least a small high school scene.

There are two types of high schools in K-Dramaland:

The one for the privileged and uber-rich children of the high society where people who do not belong to this social milieu only have access via a scholarship. These are for example Shinhwa High School, Susin High School or Jeguk [Empire] High School. The other type of high school is where all others students go to. Seungri [Victory] High School, Ilwon High School (Plus Nine Boys), Haekwang High School (Second Time Twenty Years Old), Kyungsan High School (My Heart Twinkle Twinkle), Kwang An High School (Reply 1997), or Chunkuk High School are examples here. Some students also attend specific arts high school; like those of Dream High who go to Kirin Art High School.

No matter what kind of school, each of them has their bullies. The bullies of F4 of Shinwa High School are without doubt the most famous ones in K-Dramaland.

Also, wearing an uniform is obligatory in K-Dramaland’s high schools.
A special place of each high school is its rooftop. It is often used by students as a space to fight each other, for rebels who ditch class, for lovers to meet up, or for bullies to lock up somebody up there.
