It amazes me how little attention busses get when it comes to filming locations. Yes, busses.
It’s like when, say for instance, after you’ve once seen this polka dot mug you’ll see it everywhere. The same goes for busses in K-Dramas. Once you’ve seen them, recognized them, taken them seriously, you cannot oversee them anymore.
Right now, it is blue bus No. 271 that everyone in K-Dramaland, regardless the Drama, takes.
Hong Nam-Joe (Seol In-Ah) got off this bus in episode 4 of KBS2 School 2017 (학교 2017) (2017). Choi Ae-Ra (Kim Ji-Won) and Park Hye-Ran (Lee Elijah) took this bus in episode 14 of Fight For My Way (2017). Key (Kong Kyung-Soo) took this bus in episode 10 and in episode 32 of Lookout (2017), it’s Jo Soo-Ji’s (Lee Si-Young) turn to do so. In Perfect Wife (2017), Shim Jae Bok (Ko So Young) takes this bus in episode 4. And Han Sung-Joon (Lee Tae-Hwan) takes the same bus line in episode 4 of Father, I’ll Take Care of You (2016-17). Kang Tae-Yang (Hyun Woo) rides this bus from KBC where his girlfriend broke up with him in episode 3 of The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop/Laurel Tree Tailors (2016). Gong Shim (Minah) makes a face plant just before one of its bus stops while Ahn Dan-Tae (Namgoong Min) is watching; she runs into the bus out of embarrassment; he follows and she leaves the bus – still embarrassed in episode 5 of Beautiful Gong Shim (2016).
In other words, if you go to Seoul and take this bus you might find yourself sitting in a chair where one of your recent favorite characters sat.
Bus line 271 traverses Seoul and stops at some central places:
Myeonmok-dong – Seoil College – Yongma Park – Sangbong Terminal – Hwigyeong-dong – Cheongnyangni Station – Dongdaemun – Jongno 1~6 ga – Gwanghwamun – Ewha Womans Univ. – Sinchon Subway Station (Line 2) – Hongik Univ. – Mangwon-dong– Seoul World Cup Stadium – Sangam-dong
Already taken this bus? How was it?
